What is app retargeting?

App retargeting is a user acquisition strategy where marketers target users who previously engaged with a mobile app. 

Marketers can serve retargeting ads to encourage users to re-engage, reinstall the app, or complete an in-app conversion. 

For example, some users will click on an ad for the app but won’t install it. Others will use the app and almost make an in-app purchase, but won’t complete it. With app remarketing, marketers can try to re-engage such users by serving them personalized ads.
