Push Notifications

What are push notifications?

Push notifications are short messages sent from apps directly to users’ mobile devices. These notifications appear outside the app, typically on the top section of the screen, or on the lock screen.

Before sending a push notification, apps need to ask users for permission to do so. When users receive the notification, they have the option to either tap on it to open the app or swipe to dismiss it.

What is the purpose of push notifications?

App developers use push notifications to share different information, updates, or promotions with their users. The goal of this strategy is to encourage users to actively use the app, boosting its engagement and retention rates.
