Mobile game whales are a group of players who spend a lot more money on games than the typical player. For example, a single whale can spend hundreds, thousands, or even millions of dollars on microtransactions.
Whales are a small group, accounting for approximately 2% of the global player base. Although there aren’t many mobile game whales, when they play certain games, they generate the majority of their revenues. Because these players are so valuable, mobile game developers are willing to pay a premium price to “catch” them.
