Many other titles are also similar to last year’s top downloads, but what strikes the most is Subway Surfers, which still gets a spot in the top 10 even after 14 years since its first release!
Revenue

And looking at revenue, below are the top-grossing mobile games of 2025, considering all genres:
- Honor of Kings, $1.683.911.252
- Last War: Survival, $1.573.337.948

- Coin Master, $650.648.450
Honor of Kings, developed by Chinese publisher Tencent, has surpassed the other titles and become n.1 top-grossing title of 2025, with almost $1.7 billion in revenue.
According to AppMagic data, the game has been one of the top 10 top-grossing mobile games for years now, and it doesn’t show signs of slowing down. Since its launch in 2015, the game has earned over $13 billion from IAPs only.
And what’s even more interesting is that Honor of Kings is n.89 for downloads, so we can assume that the game was able to capture highly-motivated and high-spending players.
A similar thing has happened for Last War: Survival, developed by Funfly, which is n.2 for revenue but n. 44 for downloads.
There isn’t always a correlation between the number of downloads and the revenue a game generates.
For example, MONOPOLY GO!, which is n.6 for revenue, isn’t even in the top 100 of the most downloaded games, looking at AppMagic data.

Color Block Jam, Screwdom, and All in Hole: Black Hole Games top the list and these games lean more into puzzle mechanics.
These are more hybrid-casual games, meaning they combine simple hyper-casual core gameplay with more complex gaming elements.
Mob Control is another hybrid-casual title, and it’s the only title to appear on both charts, showing that it is possible to combine mass appeal with strong IAP monetization.

Revenue

- Honor of Kings, $1.683.911.252
- Last War: Survival, $1.573.337.948
- Roblox, $1.450.146.387
- Whiteout Survival, $1.401.542.915

- Honkai: Star Rail, $422.766.068
On the other hand, the most profitable subgenre for midcore games is MOBA, which includes Honor of Kings, Last War and Whiteout Survival.
MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, and it defines multiplayer games where two teams of players battle on a map to destroy the opposing team’s base.
This type of gameplay emphasizes strategy and teamwork, and since it can take a while to progress in the game, we understand why these games earn so much from IAPs.
In general, midcore games earn more from IAPs than casual or hypercasual games, because players are more likely to play for longer and, thus, also spend money in the game.
Top Grossing Publishers
Finally, let’s take a look at the highest-earning publishers of 2025:
- Tencent, China, $5.718.738.092

- Scopely, Inc., United States, $1.632.360.633

- Playrix, Ireland, $1.393.119.121
- King, Sweden, $1.296.223.417
- Supercell, Finland, $1.124.772.950
Tencent leads by a wide margin with over $5.7 billion in revenue, which is nearly triple that of the next publisher, Century Games.
But looking closely, we see that China dominates the list, with 3 out of the top 10 publishers being Chinese (Tencent, Century Games, NetEase).
At the same time, major publishers from other regions continue to shape the market.
US-based companies such as Scopely and Roblox Corporation remain among the top earners, while European publishers like Playrix (Ireland), King (Sweden), and Supercell (Finland), as well as Dream Games from Turkey, show that global success is not limited to one region.
However, the gap between Tencent and the rest highlights how concentrated mobile revenue has become.
